There’s nothing like a hot day to make my grill call to me. Usually I answer with a delicious dinner, and this was no exception.

Usually, I make our steak tacos in the same manner that our favorite local taco place makes them: simply dressed with cilantro, sweet onion, and lime juice. These were no exception!

I’m particularly proud of this marinade, which could easily be used on any protein, but was particularly fantastic on some skirt steak.

Cook Time: 10-15 minutes

Keywords: grill entree steak Mexican

Ingredients (6 servings)

  • 1.5 pounds protein of choice
  • 6 limes, juiced
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 ounce silver tequila
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce (or to taste)

Mix together all the ingredients except your steak.

Place the protein in a bowl or pan.

Pour the marinade over the steak and allow to sit for at least 2 hours, or overnight.

Grill the steak over high, direct heat until desired doneness.

Once the grilling was done, I chopped up the steak, and added a bit more lime juice

And then, some warm and fresh corn tortillas lead to a truly delicious summer dinner. And besides, any time tequila is involved, is it ever bad?
Wait… don’t answer that.
