Thank you all SO much for your well-wishes over the last few days! Every comment, text, email, tweet, and Facebook message brightened my spirits during the extremely scary time of being in the hospital.
Pretty much, they figured out that this last bout of bronchitis re-activated my childhood asthma and I’ve been dealing with asthma symptoms on top of the lovely cold I’ve had. I’m now on a lovely cocktail of medications including antibiotics, steroids, pain relievers, inhalers, and regular doses of lots of fluids and rest.
I had every intent of having an amazingly fabulous post to celebrate 1,000 posts here on What’s For Dinner… and instead, my 1,000th post was one announcing that I was in the hospital! So instead, we’re going to pretend that TODAY is my 1,000th post!
WHEE!!! I can’t believe it! You all have been with me through wedding planning, getting married, the loss of my dad, the excitement of a new dog, the loss of Raven, and an estimated 600 recipes. Through internet technology and the Wayback Machine, let me take you back.
My first blog post was on a site that looked like this:
BORRRRINNNGGGG!!!!! After a while, I designed my own header, and was fairly comfortable with it for a good long time. Does anyone remember this one?
For some reason, the Wayback Machine didn’t capture much of my other layouts, but I’m thrilled with what I’ve got going on here now.
You all have seen me through various phases, through Project Food Blog and Cupcakes, crochet and cute food… and I have a lovely gift for you.
Meet the Snack-Time Bunch! Chica Chocolate (the mug of hot cocoa), Miss Macaron (the strawberry-chocolate macaron) and Mr. Truffle (The caramel-swirled truffle)! These adorable “snacks” were made for YOU by ME!
For the low low cost of one comment, you can be entered to win these non-edible cute food “snacks” to reside on your desk, shelf, computer, car, or wherever you may want to keep them. They’re fairly low-maintenance, they don’t melt, nor do they lose their personalities.
They’re crocheted from 100% acrylic yarn, and fitted with safety eyes. They’re a little small, so they’re probably not great for tiny children, but ages 4+ would be perfect!
So, to celebrate 1000 posts to my wonderful readers, tell me your favorite snack!
Contest open to U.S. readers only, winner will be announced Thursday, March 22! Good luck, and thank you for sticking with me through 1000 posts!
