Family Photo Shoot: Kim & Family

This was the second weekend in a row with a photo shoot, and I officially have NO idea how wedding photographers do this every weekend!

Kim is a coworker of mine, and I met with her and her family (M, N, & B; names hidden for privacy) today at her beautiful home. I was pleasantly surprised that the kids were as young as they are; apparently I’d confused this family with another work family! Taking photos of younger kids comes fairly easily to me after all the years at camp. This was my first “official” family photo shoot, meaning more than two people (well, 2.5 if you count the maternity shoot!), and I’m pretty pleased with the results.

I had SO much fun shooting today! The adults went along with my crazy ideas, had some crazy ideas of their own (a rowboat!), and were extremely helpful with the kids. And the kids… oh they were just lovely! If I ever needed to get them to giggle or smile, it was really easy. I just said “boogers.”

I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I do have permission to post these photos, I was instructed to keep their names off the blog.

In addition, I’m adding all of my photography-based posts to a new page called, you guessed it, Photo Gigs.

And, now that I’m done editing these, there’s a chocolate-based project happening in my kitchen for a certain friend’s birthday! More details tomorrow, but here’s a hint: it rhymes with “shmupfakes”.

xoxo

Oh Mara, these photos are spectacular. If you ever give up your day job and become a full time photographer, you’d be a roaring success. Thanks to you and this lovely family for sharing the pics with us!
