Nearly Wordless Wednesday {Giveaway Post]

I give up trying to be wordless. It just doesn’t happen!

So, we’ll call it “Slightly Loquacious Wednesday” instead.

A couple days ago I made pork bao buns.

They were pretty good, but not perfect. I’ll have to try again.

I also made whole wheat linguine with clams. It was amazing and I was mad I forgot my lunch leftovers.

Tonight was herbed flank steak with asparagus and Jess’ amazing mushroom recipe.

Our amazing dog Raven…

Has a new friend! Meet Maddux…

He’ll be staying with us for a while… or forever… let’s hope for the latter!

A while ago, MyBlogSpark sent me this care package featuring Green Giant broccoli in cheese sauce, an insulated tote, bowl, silicone spoon, and pedometer. We ate the broccoli a week or so ago, and I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious it was. I’m not usually a processed cheese fan, but for the nutrition, it rocked!

You can win a pack like this of your own by leaving a comment about your favorite vegetable or vegetable/condiment combination. Mine? Potatoes and sharp cheddar.

You can win an additional entry by following my BFF Lizz on Twitter, @LizzNLittleBit then leaving a second comment that you’ve done so.

A third entry can be gained by “Liking” What’s For Dinner? on Facebook, and leaving a third comment.

Something else to do

Help raise money for Share Our Strength by decorating virtual toast! $1 is donated for every piece of “toast”!

Here’s one that I made:

One of my favorite veggies would have to be spinach! You can mix it with lots of things for a yummy salad or smoothie.

I absolutely love carrots! They’re great raw or cooked. I’ve recently found that they’re also good dipped in hummus. You can’t go wrong with carrots!

tiff May 5, 2011 at 9:17 AM

One of my faves is creamed spinach. It’s so bad for you but so tasty!

I’m in Canada, so probably can’t enter (but for the record, my fave is asparagus with butter and parmesan) – but had to comment on the lovely Maddux! Actually, I “awww’d” out loud at BOTH of the dogs! Can’t wait to hear the story of his background and if you end up keeping him. AWWW. Have a great day Mara.

Mara – Tony and I were at the Crystal Lake Friday’s last night – first off – I got carded! Then I tried their sweet potato fries – pretty good. Even better? The sweet potato fries, dipped in mustard and then sandwiched between pickled jalapenos I had on the side of my turkey burger – yum! :D

Biz May 5, 2011 at 4:27 PM

Oh, and my new job is right by The Lucky Monk in South Barrington – I think you and Adam have been there already, right?

Floey May 5, 2011 at 9:04 PM

Carrots, celery and string cheese or PB!

Hooray for Raven and Maddux! Very cute.

I adore a baked potato with sour cream. If I’m trying to be healthy, I like lightly sauteed spinach with garlic.
