Before I get to today’s post, I need to ask for your help.
I’ve never run a race before, and I probably never will. But, as most of you know, I lost my dad to pancreatic cancer this past January, so I feel as though I now have a cause to help. Pancreatic cancer is a terrible disease, often not being detected until it is too late for any sort of treatment. Every year, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PANCAN) here in Chicago hosts the Purple Stride 5K run/walk to benefit pancreatic cancer research. My family and I are walking this year on April 30!
I have a fundraising button on the right, or you can click here to donate, and we would truly appreciate your help in any way you can. I’ll likely be hosting a blogger “flea market” next week, in which readers and other bloggers can donate items, services, or baked goods for sale to benefit PANCAN. Thank you all in advance!
There have been all kinds of random meals here in the What’s for Dinner household, and I really and truly cannot decide which one to show you first…so you’re going to decide for me by using the poll that’s over in the sidebar under whatever pretty pictures shows up on the right.
First up, from Adam’s birthday breakfast:
Fluffy buttermilk biscuits! We enjoyed these with sausage gravy.
Second, something I’ve been working on for quite some time, absolutely PERFECT whole-wheat pizza crust!
Made better with this amazing Wisconsin beer
Third: A lovingly-prepared meal of roasted sweet potatoes, asparagus, pan “fried” cube steak, and sauteed mushrooms:
Some other shots from that meal:
And last but not least, my “brought to you by the letter P” meal: Parmesan Polenta, pesto potatoes, and pork
Since I wasn’t writing up recipes, I had a little photo shoot with our resident tiny spring leaves:
And, the cats wanted in on the photo action, so I took some photos of them too
Raven our dog wanted nothing to do with the camera. She actually went upstairs!
So, get voting my friends! You’ll decide my next post!
