Welcome back! Have you entered YOUR cute food in the Cute Food Saturday contest yet?? In honor of CFS’s one year anniversary, I’d love to present a reader-created CFS full of cute food YOU’VE made! You’ve got about a month and a half to get thinking and creating, and the anniversary post will be a contest! Please email me submissions by February 25! Readers will be able to vote for the cutest food, and the winner will receive a special cute food prize! So get thinking!!! I’ve already gotten a few submissions, and they’re ADORABLE!!
Today’s theme, as you may have assumed, is Valentine’s Day! Before we get to the cuteness I’ve found all over the internet, I want to help you with something to make your own Valentine’s day (or any other day) cute food!
For Valentine’s Day, Adam and I have elected to save a bit of money and stay home. We’ve pretty much decided on a romantic meal at home with cheese fondue, plenty of bread, and a dessert of some sort. We have a problem though… I’m a very “dark chocolate” kind of dessert person. The darker and more decadent the better. The first dessert I ever remember being “close my eyes” good was a flourless chocolate cake when I was about 9. Adam, on the other hand, is much more of a fruit or pie dessert kind of guy. He’d rather have a slice of cherry pie than dark chocolate any day. Enter: Dessert for Two pan! This is an adorable pan with two individual baking areas for potentially two separate desserts! While I haven’t mastered cooking for one or two, I’ve definitely mastered the baking for one… so what will I be doing? I’ll make myself a little something chocolate while Adam can have his fruit crisp, they can bake at the same time, and we can eat our different desserts at the same time. Want this pan?? I know you do… you can easily purchase it in my OpenSky shop!!
Now for the lovey-dovey Valentine’s Day cuteness!
