Since I just had leftovers of last night’s Chicken Stew for dinner tonight, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to share and pass on the blog awards I received the other day from Chicago Marathon Val!

For this award, I’m supposed to tell you 7 things you don’t already know about me:
1. Apparently, when I was very little, like barely talking, I could answer questions like “Who is the queen of soul?” and “Who are the Beatles?” I could also name foods and gemstones.
2. I currently have a ton of items in my kitchen that were my Grandma’s. Adam often jokes that it’s her “memorial kitchen”, and while we’re getting new things for the wedding, Grandma’s stuff will go into storage until a time comes where we can have a bigger kitchen and keep it out.
3. I was the queen band nerd in high school. I not only played the flute (and well, i might add), I was a student director, captain of the flag team, drum major, president of band staff, and had a second locker in the band room so I could keep my stuff there instead of my hallway locker.
4. I desperately want to be a mom, and the idea of pregnancy is fascinating and intriguing…but labor scares the crud out of me! I’m told its worth it!
5. Seville, Spain was one of the best places I’ve ever been in my life. I have a dream of re-doing my senior year of high school trip to Spain, and eating my way through the country.
6.I have vivid memories of being mortified by the lunches I would bring to elementary school. Nothing like whole wheat pitas full of cashew butter, apricot preserves, organic graham crackers, mandarin oranges and seltzer water to make me want PB&J on white bread. Looking back, I know I had it good

7. I love all of Adam and my little traditions and goofy things that other people don’t see. They range from sushi Fridays to silly phrases, and I adore each and every one.

Congrats on the awards!
I also played flute in school and I think our mom’s packed us the IDENTICAL lunches — haha too funny! None of my friends knew what pitas were and of course everything was in it’s own tupperware container I had to bring home, to wash out so we didn’t waste plastic baggies, foil, or plastic wrap! hehe

I was just like you, I always had to ‘weird’ lunches in school because my mom gave me whole wheat bread and milk. I agree, I was much better off than the kids who had cheetos and soda.
