One Down…

Only 43 days of camp to go!
Day one was a success! Yes, I’m a little sunburned (more sunblock tomorrow!), and yes I’m exhausted… but it was quite a fun day! Some of the activities included:

  • swimming
  • changing after swimming
  • picnic lunch (I ate sushi salad, recipe soon!)
  • a rousing game of Duck, Duck, Goose
  • playing catch with plastic Jai-Alai equipment
  • matchbox car races
  • a bus ride to the movie theater where we saw
  • Imagine That with Eddie Murphy (quite cute, I may or may not have shed a tear)

PHEW! When we got back to our home base (a local schools’ gymnasium), I was in charge of making sure all the kids get picked up safely. Lots of schmoozing!

On my way home, I got a phone call from Adam saying “would you like me to get us dinner from somewhere?” I grinned and said “YES! I’m exhausted!” So when I got home, this was waiting for me:

Yes, that would be Chinese take-out beef and broccoli! I ate about 1.5 cups worth with a little brown rice, and am looking forward to a bit of coconut milk mint chip ice cream (HEAB says its the best, and I think she’s right!) I had a couple other things waiting for me when I got home:

A massive amount of Amazing Grass products!! I’m really excited to try the packets in my smoothies in the morning, but the real adventure will happen this weekend. Teri Jo from Amazing Grass challenged me to create a “super green” chicken and/or meat marinade… so we’ll see what I can come up with!
This was also waiting for me:

A 32-oz jar of Tropical Traditions virgin coconut oil, as well as a book on its uses and health benefits! I’ll be having a giveaway later this week so YOU can win a jar and book of your own! Stay tuned!
Later this week will also feature (OMG 2 bulleted lists!):
  • A Pure Bar review by Adam!
  • A few lunch recipes, as dinner may be sparse
  • A couple dinner recipes, provided I have energy
  • More insight into my camp days
  • Guests for Dinner (if any of you would like to send me a post? Hint Hint?)

But, I leave you tonight with the first of 44 Funny Quotes by Campers!

“Hey! Mara! Did you know that cats lick their butts with their scratchy tongues because they don’t have cat toilet paper?”
